Year 4, Weeks 23 and 24: Merry Christmas!

It appears as if I am back early this time! What do you know??? It was a great holiday season for us a family of four! We were working really hard to get the upstairs ready to roll for carpet. Lots of cleaning and preparing and we FINALLY got to the day! Wednesday they came and they worked Wednesday and Thursday, then, TADA, the upstairs had flooring! Amelia would go, roll on the ground, and go "Fuzzy!"

We took the weekend off for Christmas, which was SO worth it. Of course, we still had to do the whole wrapping and preparation thing to do, but we had a great time doing it! Jonathan was off the whole weekend, so we got everything done and even worked a little bit on getting the electrical and doors ready to go upstairs.

Christmas Eve was SO cold, but we ventured out to church anyway, which was definitely worth it. It was an evening service instead of a Sunday morning one on Christmas day. The evening service is a little challenging with little ones, but I am glad we made it work! Christmas morning was SO much fun. Amelia was great at opening gifts and was so excited about all of them! Both of our families planned Christmas for after Christmas, so we had all evening with no commitments! Mom and Dad came over for dinner and to give the kids presents, but otherwise it was just the four of us!

The Landis Christmas gathering was postponed by illness, so we really just had family week after Christmas too...and we got a lot accomplished! We went to Lowe's and Arby's on Monday and got a ton of stuff that we needed to finish the upstairs...door handles, door stops, places to hang towels, it was a great trip and put us on the right track to get moved up!

The rest of the week we worked hard to get stuff done up there. Jonathan went to visit his grandpa on Tuesday, so we hung out with Faith for the afternoon! Everyone had a great visit! Such a blessing to have great friends and great family.

We took advantage of Jonathan being off work and went furniture shopping, shopping for some other stuff we needed for upstairs, got some Christmas decorations, it was a great week. I had a doctor's appointment on Thursday, so Amelia hung out with Nana while we got all that accomplished and then we had pizza in the evening.

Thankfully, we didn't have anything planned for the new year because the adults in our house got sick. I started Friday night and he started Saturday night. I got on antibiotics on Saturday morning, his didn't seem to be the same thing, needless to say, we spent my birthday at home, sick, napping and moving upstairs! That was my big gift - sleeping upstairs that night! The best gift to top off our crazy year.

It really has been a wild one, but we wouldn't change anything we did. We have been so blessed by all the support we have received this year with all that we bit off. Hopefully, 2023 will give us a little more time to breathe, but we doubt it! Thank you all for your love and support, we love you!

Merry Christmas and Happy 2023!

Love,

Jonathan, Allison, Amelia and William
