Year 4, Weeks 20-22: House, Painting and One Month of William!

We are back! Not a lot of excitement here, just adjusting to Mr. William, getting sleep when we can and working on the house like crazy! Our house project is coming to a bit of a slow down...but the past three weeks have been quite a lot.

Week 20, November 28-December 4th

Jonathan went back to work this week AND they worked really hard and got the drywall finished, so that was an adjustment, but we managed pretty well! The drywall coming to an end was very relieving, they worked so hard and it looks really great now!

Amelia and I went on a quick Drug Mart trip, had some friends visit and Jonathan went on a site visit. We had the furnace installed, went to the library and had a massive cleaning day. At one point we thought we were going to be spraying the primer on, so we had to get everything cleaned really really well...then we ended up rolling it on starting Sunday afternoon.

Week 21, December 5-11

Painting week! There was a lot of painting, but we got it all done and it looks great! I will say, the colors weren't what I expected...but I still like them! William had a doctor's appointment, which went perfectly, then Jonathan had a site visit as well as band practice on Thursday, so to get out of the house we went to see Grandma and Grandpa Dickerhoof! Since then, Amelia has been saying "Meme go a Grandma's house!" Needless to say, she had a great time and liked getting out of the house.

Painting was finished on Saturday, Jonathan and his dad installed some doors, then we finally had a good, family evening. Sunday was the big day this week...it was William's first church visit AND it was our church's first day in our new home! Such a great day after 17 years of waiting! It was awesome, we enjoyed the whole day. We went on a trip to Canton to get some Christmas shopping done in the evening...we all enjoyed that. It was a beautiful little family day!

Week 22, December 12-18

Since our Sunday shopping trip went so well and our Monday plans didn't pan out the way we thought they would, we went on a massive shopping trip after Jonathan was done with work! Groceries and finishing Christmas were at the top of the list, and they went really well! The kids were great, we got a lot done! We split up into little teams and did what needed to be done. Plus, when we got home, our Christmas shopping was near complete and we had fresh food again!

William had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, so he and I went to his appointment and Amelia hung out with Aunt Bev! They had a great time, she was very excited about it. There was a lot of work being done on the house the week with getting trim ready so we could be prepared for carpet. Friday was a crazy day due to all sorts of different things, the good thing to come out of it was that Amelia and I got an air nailer and the LAST DOOR so that our house could really be complete and ready to roll!

The weekend really wrapped up the end of this crazy week with more craziness! We got our Christmas tree on Saturday (better late than never), cleaned the house and spent some time as a family. Sunday we had church, then Dad and Jonathan worked on the trim in the afternoon and the Guess family came to visit us in the evening! The twins and Amelia were absolutely adorable together and we loved spending time with them again. It is always a blessing to have time with people who have similar values and are in the same season of life. We just love spending time with them.

All in all, it has been a wild few weeks! December has been a lot of house work, kid work and shopping! Maternity leave is never as relaxing as I think it will be, but I am glad that we aren't trying to juggle my work schedule right now! Being a family of four still feels a little unreal, but we are soaking up every minute of it!

Have a Merry Christmas! Love,

Jonathan, Allison, Amelia and William
