Year 4, Weeks 34-36: Friends, Pizza and A Weekend of Adventures

Hello! Back again! I can hardly even remember what happened the last three weeks...trying to keep up though! Good thing I have been keeping notes. We are just loving our time with the babies. They are so much fun right now. William just smiles any time you interact with him and Amelia is constantly singing, reading, talking all the time.

Week 34: March 6 - 12

The challenging, best week - double thirteen hour days followed by six days off. I hadn't had a week like this since I started back to work and it was great to have so many days with the kids in a row. The kids spent Monday with Pam at home, then went to Faith's for the day on Tuesday. It was beautiful out, so she got to be outside, then they want to Mom and Dad's Monday night to get the rest of the meat wrapped.

Tuesday Jonathan was gone on a site visit, then he sold the truck in the evening! We put it out in front of the house Sunday afternoon and it was gone by Tuesday evening - pretty quick turnaround! I had a good day at work, got a lot done and was glad to be home.

I was off the rest of the week, we got the car worked on, tried potty training (not so smooth), ate well and cleaned up around the house. On Friday night I went out for dinner with the girls from small group, which was an absolute blast! It was hard to leave when I didn't absolutely have to, but I was very glad that I went. The kids hung out with Jonathan and everyone had a great evening!

Saturday we went to the Miller's for dinner! We also gave potty training a shot in the morning - still not really ready for it, but she tells me now, so that's helpful! In the morning, we went and did some shopping, but we didn't have a lot of luck.

On Sunday, Jonathan worked on the barn after church, we dealt with time change, which actually went pretty smooth, and dropped the other vehicle off at the shop, because why not have both worked on when you could only have one...in one week? In the evening, we went grocery shopping and got Jalisco's afterward. We have had a great time grocery shopping as a family, partly because it's necessary and partly because it's fun!

Week 35: March 13 - 19

We got our car back on Monday, so that was wonderful, now we can haul the trailer we got! For dinner we had creamy bacon pasta and enjoyed some time together as a family. Jonathan went to visit a work site during the day, but it was a home day for the rest of us!

Tuesday was normal, but Wednesday was a real busy day. I had my mandatory meeting in Medina, which started at eight, meaning I had to leave the house at 6:30. Needless to say - I did not see the babies in the morning. Jonathan got them up and took them to Faith's while I was gone. I left the meeting a few minutes early so I could get home in time to pump, pick Jonathan up, pick the kids up and then head to William's doctor's appointment. It was a long day, but we stopped for pizza at Zep's, had a great family evening and Jonathan and I played a game, so it ended up being a pretty good day!

On Thursday we had our tax appointment, so we dropped the babies off with Mom and went to that, then went back to Mom's house and I hung out there with the babies while Jonathan was at band. Yet another busy day, but we enjoyed some time with Nana and Papa, as always! It was a big week for us since we had 2 crazy days, then I worked the weekend.

Dad and Jonathan did some work on the house on Saturday while the kids hung out with Mom. It was a good day at work for me, then grabbed some food before I went home. Sunday was quite relaxing after I got back from work - philly cheesesteaks and hanging out as a family!

Week 36: March 20 - 26

Jonathan had an interview for a project on Monday, so I had the kids all day long. Which was wonderful! They were super and we hadn't been together much since Thursday, so I would like to say we all enjoyed it! Mom and Dad came to visit in the evening, but other than that, it was mainly just the three of us. Tuesday was the first day Jonathan brought both kids to see me at work. It was such a sweet surprise!

Tuesday and Wednesday they were here installing our air conditioning. The renovated part of our house has its own system and it never had air conditioning. Since we are sleeping there, we had to have it up and running before the warm weather hits. We definitely made that deadline with no problems! Wednesday afternoon Jonathan took his mower up to be worked on. He toughed it out last year, but it was definitely time to get it all tuned up. Tuesday night I felt like absolute crap by the time I got home, so I was at stat care Wednesday morning. Thankfully, I was seen very quickly, got home in good time and was feeling quite a bit better by the end of the day! We went about our Wednesday and had a great time together.

Jonathan was on a site visit again on Thursday, plus he had band. The kids and I had a great day and evening together! The evenings just fly by with all the things we have to do with them, but it is really a lot of fun. Friday was just a day of constant adjustment. We made last minute plans, then those fell through and we ended up just being at home and had a visit from Mom and Dad. Jonathan started feeling a little sick too, so we felt it best to just stay home and get rested for the next day.

Saturday was a pretty big day for our little family. I got an e-mail earlier in the week saying my company had some tickets to a trade show up in Cleveland. Initially, we were thinking we would go if we could drop the kids off, then we decided, why not take them? I am so glad we did! It was a great day. An hour and a half each way is a long ride for the kiddos and the ride there got long and complicated as our sweet son decided he didn't really want to nap on the way up, but Amelia handled it pretty well. Other than saying she wanted to go to the "train show" the whole ride up there, she was very content! After the show we met Emily for lunch at the Berea Depot - super cute little place to eat! Not a place to go in a hurry, but we weren't. We enjoyed some good, life-giving conversation and it was a lot of fun to surprise Amelia with Emily and Emily with Amelia - neither of them knew the other was coming.

When we got home, we had no power...which was a bit shocking until we found out no one else really had power either since there was just so much wind. Thankfully, my parents never lose power, so we ended up packing up and heading over there. In predictable fashion, everything blinked on as we were going out the door - right after we told Amelia we were going to Nana and Papa's. Of course, Jonathan and I were relieved! Ready to hang out at home after being gone all day...she had a complete meltdown when she found out we were going to stay home...we went to Nana and Papa's. She ate dinner there and then we came home. It was a good way to say goodbye to them before they left on their trip!

Poor Baby William was having a terribly difficult time with his skin over the weekend. He was pretty uncomfortable, but we have it a little calmed down now. Sunday morning we went to church and Amelia was very surprised to get to see Grandma and Grandpa there! They came to see Jonathan play, then came back to our house for lunch. I went to grab Subway while they played with babies, then we hung out with them for the afternoon. Jonathan milked in the evening and we went to the farm to enjoy the beautiful day. Grandma and Grandpa joined us and Amelia was thrilled to see them too! We got to see the train go past, ran around for a little while, saw the animals, it was a great evening and we enjoyed some time outside.

It was a great few weeks for us! William is a ton of fun right now, he is super interactive and is trying really hard to get that little body rolling! No consistent luck so far, but lots of smiles! He is a sweet little one and is so loved by all of us. Please enjoy all the additional documentation below! We love you all and hope you are enjoying the glimpses we have been getting of spring!

Love,

Jonathan, Allison, Amelia and William
