Year 3, Weeks 47-52: Four Years!

So much for being on top of things! I was going to try to get caught up, then decided to just wait and do a double dose. We have been up to a lot, but we have also been down a little bit. We are here for all of it!

Week 47: June 6-12

Monday and Tuesday I was home sick when I should have been working because I had COVID, which was not a lot of fun, but it was nice to have a bit of a rest, I certainly needed it. We had pot pie for dinner, which is the perfect sick food! On Tuesday, Amelia wasn't feeling great, she had a stuffy nose, so I ended up taking her binky because she couldn't sleep with it...which sounds mean, but she wasn't feeling well and didn't understand that breathing was more important than the binky.

Jonathan had to go do a little bit of shopping for us since Amelia and I were under the weather, but Wednesday I was finally feeling better, so we enjoyed a good home day and watched "A Beautiful Day", which is a movie about Mr. Rogers. It was a very well done movie! We had foil ham sandwiches and enjoyed an evening together with everyone feeling fairly normal!

On Thursday I went back to work, we finished the movie in the evening and relaxed. Every night was horrible this week due to the binky situation. We decided to commit...it wasn't enjoyable at all. Friday was a really difficult day for both of us. We fought all day. Ham braid, mac and cheese and green beans were for dinner. I cleaned the house to prepare for a good long weekend.

Saturday was a good day, Jonathan had some work to do here, he mowed and worked on the stumps, while Amelia and I spent the morning with Mom. We went to the local craft show and hung out in the afternoon. In the afternoon I worked on laundry and we went to a fundraising dinner in the evening. It was delicious!

Sunday was a really good day for us! I spent a lot of time in the kitchen prepping enchiladas for Monday, pizza for lunch and then preparing burgers for the Guess family to come visit! We had such a great time visiting with them and were so glad it worked out for us to see them.

Week 48: June 13-19

This was my long week. On Monday and Tuesday, Jonathan and Amelia had a few different things to do, but we all had pretty good days! Wednesday was a pool evening, which was very pleasant! We had meatloaf and scalloped potatoes, cookies and fruit, so Amelia was very please!

Thursday was a bit wild, but it was wonderful! After work we went to the Catlett's for a band dinner, then went to Mom and Dad's to greet the weary travelers from TN. The rest of the weekend was spent working on cleaning out the barn and taking care of the property here at home, while I spent the weekend at work. We had a Haas family dinner on Saturday after the boys did some pressure washing. It was a big weekend, but we made it! We had a very minimal Father's Day, but we celebrated Jonathan all the same.

Week 49: June 20-26

I had a short day on Monday, so we had tacos when I got home from work. On Tuesday Jonathan and Dad worked in the barn for the evening while I was at work and they did all the pressure washing they could. Wednesday, Amelia and I went up to the farm to visit the Gragg's, then, the rest of the day we spent at home. We had smoked pork chops and enjoyed some time together!

Thursday was a normal day for us, then on Friday we had pasta and spent the evening getting ready for our trip to Indiana for Kristen's wedding! We left Saturday morning and got to Jonathan's Grandma's with a few hours to spare. Ken rode along with us and Amelia enjoyed having a companion in the back seat! Once we arrived, Amelia got to relax for a little while before we all got ready for the wedding. It was absolutely beautiful and we loved getting to see family!

We spent the night at Grandma's, then had breakfast in the morning and headed out. Amelia did great on the ride home, then we spent some time in the garden, unpacked and Granny and Papa came for a visit!

Week 50: June 27-July 3

It was my back to back long days and Faith was busy, so Pam came to play with Amelia for a little while! The guys worked in the evening both Monday and Tuesday, so Wednesday was extra special because we got to spent time together! Jonathan mowed, then we had fajitas for dinner. I worked in the garden and got ready for Karah's shower! Thursday was busy for Jonathan, he went to the dentist, picked up plywood with Mom and Dad and worked up in the attic to get things ready for the barn floor.

The weekend was great, we had a really long weekend since the holiday was Monday! Friday we went shopping so Jonathan could get all his wedding wear, I got some stock pots for a really good deal, then we went to Carrabba's for dinner! It was delicious and Amelia did great.

On Saturday, Jonathan and Dad worked in the attic, I did some weeding, we had lasagna for lunch and fiesta chicken for dinner. I got some cleaning and laundry done! Sunday was church, cleaning, laundry and mowing. We went and got ice cream, had steak alfredo and took naps...it was phenomenal! I got some enchiladas ready for breakfast in the morning and we were all set!

Week 51: July 4-10

The Fourth was awesome. Dad and Jonathan worked on the driveway, we took naps, did some cleaning, had sticky rolls and enchiladas, then went swimming and had stromboli at Mom and Dad's for dinner. On Tuesday, Jonathan and Dad worked in the attic again, taking up the floor so it could be used in the barn. I worked and Amelia hung out with Mom and Evie.

On Wednesday, Jonathan went out to the office to work, so Amelia and I had a great day together. Thursday was normal for Amelia and I, then Jonathan came home and he had band, the TN family came in and I spent the evening at Mom and Dad's with them!

It was, again, my long weekend, and the guys spent the weekend working on the flooring in the barn so no one falls through during the wedding! Saturday, we had dinner at Mom and Dad's, then they spent Sunday relaxing. Jonathan got the yard mowed and worked in the garden.

Week 52: July 11-17

Monday was a big day. We had the 20 week ultrasound for Baby 2, which went REALLY well, then we came home for the shower. It was so fun celebrating Karah and Shem and we all had a great time! After the shower we had some visitors for the barn and the house, we had a great time with everyone, but were very exhausted by the end of the day.

Tuesday was normal, Wednesday was busy! Amelia and I went to get blueberries, we had roast, mashed potatoes and corn for dinner, enjoyed our evening together and I took a nap...once I finally got Amelia to agree.

Thursday was our anniversary! Unfortunately, there was a lot going on so we didn't get to celebrate our anniversary on Thursday. I prepared potluck potatoes for Friday, since I worked a short day, then Friday we worked on the garden and weeded a little bit. Jonathan surprised me with a weekend celebration! On Saturday, we had French Toast for breakfast, leftovers for lunch and then went to New Philly for dinner. We went to Trumpet in the Land, had ice cream, and enjoyed an evening together just the two of us.

Sunday we got to see our baby, which was wonderful. Church was great, followed by naps and a family evening together. We had tater tot casserole to prepare for the long week and just loved our evening. I was having some bad allergies, but we made it through and got some rest.

Now we are off to start our FOURTH year of marriage! I can't believe it! By the end of the year we will be a family of four, have a second story and will have gained a sister-in-law! This year was a big year, but next year will be big as well. I have a feeling life is only going to keep moving faster from here!

Thank you for loving us this far, we are thankful for all of you and we love and appreciate you all!

Love,

Allison, Jonathan and Amelia
