Year 3, Weeks 47-52: Four Years!

So much for being on top of things! I was going to try to get caught up, then decided to just wait and do a double dose. We have been up to a lot, but we have also been down a little bit. We are here for all of it!

Week 47: June 6-12

Monday and Tuesday I was home sick when I should have been working because I had COVID, which was not a lot of fun, but it was nice to have a bit of a rest, I certainly needed it. We had pot pie for dinner, which is the perfect sick food! On Tuesday, Amelia wasn't feeling great, she had a stuffy nose, so I ended up taking her binky because she couldn't sleep with it...which sounds mean, but she wasn't feeling well and didn't understand that breathing was more important than the binky.

Jonathan had to go do a little bit of shopping for us since Amelia and I were under the weather, but Wednesday I was finally feeling better, so we enjoyed a good home day and watched "A Beautiful Day", which is a movie about Mr. Rogers. It was a very well done movie! We had foil ham sandwiches and enjoyed an evening together with everyone feeling fairly normal!

On Thursday I went back to work, we finished the movie in the evening and relaxed. Every night was horrible this week due to the binky situation. We decided to commit...it wasn't enjoyable at all. Friday was a really difficult day for both of us. We fought all day. Ham braid, mac and cheese and green beans were for dinner. I cleaned the house to prepare for a good long weekend.

Saturday was a good day, Jonathan had some work to do here, he mowed and worked on the stumps, while Amelia and I spent the morning with Mom. We went to the local craft show and hung out in the afternoon. In the afternoon I worked on laundry and we went to a fundraising dinner in the evening. It was delicious!

Sunday was a really good day for us! I spent a lot of time in the kitchen prepping enchiladas for Monday, pizza for lunch and then preparing burgers for the Guess family to come visit! We had such a great time visiting with them and were so glad it worked out for us to see them.

Week 48: June 13-19

This was my long week. On Monday and Tuesday, Jonathan and Amelia had a few different things to do, but we all had pretty good days! Wednesday was a pool evening, which was very pleasant! We had meatloaf and scalloped potatoes, cookies and fruit, so Amelia was very please!

Thursday was a bit wild, but it was wonderful! After work we went to the Catlett's for a band dinner, then went to Mom and Dad's to greet the weary travelers from TN. The rest of the weekend was spent working on cleaning out the barn and taking care of the property here at home, while I spent the weekend at work. We had a Haas family dinner on Saturday after the boys did some pressure washing. It was a big weekend, but we made it! We had a very minimal Father's Day, but we celebrated Jonathan all the same.

Week 49: June 20-26

I had a short day on Monday, so we had tacos when I got home from work. On Tuesday Jonathan and Dad worked in the barn for the evening while I was at work and they did all the pressure washing they could. Wednesday, Amelia and I went up to the farm to visit the Gragg's, then, the rest of the day we spent at home. We had smoked pork chops and enjoyed some time together!

Thursday was a normal day for us, then on Friday we had pasta and spent the evening getting ready for our trip to Indiana for Kristen's wedding! We left Saturday morning and got to Jonathan's Grandma's with a few hours to spare. Ken rode along with us and Amelia enjoyed having a companion in the back seat! Once we arrived, Amelia got to relax for a little while before we all got ready for the wedding. It was absolutely beautiful and we loved getting to see family!

We spent the night at Grandma's, then had breakfast in the morning and headed out. Amelia did great on the ride home, then we spent some time in the garden, unpacked and Granny and Papa came for a visit!

Week 50: June 27-July 3

It was my back to back long days and Faith was busy, so Pam came to play with Amelia for a little while! The guys worked in the evening both Monday and Tuesday, so Wednesday was extra special because we got to spent time together! Jonathan mowed, then we had fajitas for dinner. I worked in the garden and got ready for Karah's shower! Thursday was busy for Jonathan, he went to the dentist, picked up plywood with Mom and Dad and worked up in the attic to get things ready for the barn floor.

The weekend was great, we had a really long weekend since the holiday was Monday! Friday we went shopping so Jonathan could get all his wedding wear, I got some stock pots for a really good deal, then we went to Carrabba's for dinner! It was delicious and Amelia did great.

On Saturday, Jonathan and Dad worked in the attic, I did some weeding, we had lasagna for lunch and fiesta chicken for dinner. I got some cleaning and laundry done! Sunday was church, cleaning, laundry and mowing. We went and got ice cream, had steak alfredo and took naps...it was phenomenal! I got some enchiladas ready for breakfast in the morning and we were all set!

Week 51: July 4-10

The Fourth was awesome. Dad and Jonathan worked on the driveway, we took naps, did some cleaning, had sticky rolls and enchiladas, then went swimming and had stromboli at Mom and Dad's for dinner. On Tuesday, Jonathan and Dad worked in the attic again, taking up the floor so it could be used in the barn. I worked and Amelia hung out with Mom and Evie.

On Wednesday, Jonathan went out to the office to work, so Amelia and I had a great day together. Thursday was normal for Amelia and I, then Jonathan came home and he had band, the TN family came in and I spent the evening at Mom and Dad's with them!

It was, again, my long weekend, and the guys spent the weekend working on the flooring in the barn so no one falls through during the wedding! Saturday, we had dinner at Mom and Dad's, then they spent Sunday relaxing. Jonathan got the yard mowed and worked in the garden.

Week 52: July 11-17

Monday was a big day. We had the 20 week ultrasound for Baby 2, which went REALLY well, then we came home for the shower. It was so fun celebrating Karah and Shem and we all had a great time! After the shower we had some visitors for the barn and the house, we had a great time with everyone, but were very exhausted by the end of the day.

Tuesday was normal, Wednesday was busy! Amelia and I went to get blueberries, we had roast, mashed potatoes and corn for dinner, enjoyed our evening together and I took a nap...once I finally got Amelia to agree.

Thursday was our anniversary! Unfortunately, there was a lot going on so we didn't get to celebrate our anniversary on Thursday. I prepared potluck potatoes for Friday, since I worked a short day, then Friday we worked on the garden and weeded a little bit. Jonathan surprised me with a weekend celebration! On Saturday, we had French Toast for breakfast, leftovers for lunch and then went to New Philly for dinner. We went to Trumpet in the Land, had ice cream, and enjoyed an evening together just the two of us.

Sunday we got to see our baby, which was wonderful. Church was great, followed by naps and a family evening together. We had tater tot casserole to prepare for the long week and just loved our evening. I was having some bad allergies, but we made it through and got some rest.

Now we are off to start our FOURTH year of marriage! I can't believe it! By the end of the year we will be a family of four, have a second story and will have gained a sister-in-law! This year was a big year, but next year will be big as well. I have a feeling life is only going to keep moving faster from here!

Thank you for loving us this far, we are thankful for all of you and we love and appreciate you all!

Love,

Allison, Jonathan and Amelia

Year 3, Weeks 44-46:

Editors note: the editor is responsible for this late post.

We are back! Not even late this time, I think this might be our best streak in the last two years! Not a lot of excitement, but here is a quick update from the last 3 weeks!

Week 44: May 16-22

Jonathan went out to Celina Monday and Tuesday, so Amelia and I were here together on Monday and we had a great day. Jonathan met Graham for dinner, it was his first time going out and staying in a hotel since Dillon has moved between this visit and last. He enjoyed catching up a little bit with Graham, definitely a different visit than last time! He is quite a bit closer, which is a positive for sure. Earlier start means earlier arrival home to see baby Miss Amelia! We spent the day at home for the most part. Not a lot of excitement since I had requested the day off special to stay with her anyway. Tuesday I went to work and Amelia was at Faith's and then went to Mom and Dad's for the evening until Jonathan picked her up.

On Wednesday, Amelia and I went to visit friends after we went and dropped the car off at the mechanic's for a quick update. We had pasta for dinner and spent the evening as a family. Thursday was a long day all around and we were all ready for a bit of a long weekend!

Friday was my follow-up ultrasound to check and see how Little Landis was doing. All is well, baby is quite busy in there! We even got a bit of a wave and saw a bunch of movement! After the ultrasound we met Mom, Dad and Amelia in Hartville for some shopping and then ate at the kitchen. We came home, did some sleeping, and then went over to Mom and Dad's with the Prusia's to try to get the pool set up. It didn't work, but we had fun anyway!

Saturday was garden planting day, we got a lot done even though it was quite warm. Amelia and I took naps in the afternoon and then Pam and Emily came over to visit later in the day. Sunday we had church, naps and Jonathan worked on the house then we went over to Mom and Dad's so we could see Mom before her surgery.

Week 45: May 23-30

Monday was Mom's surgery, I was at work but Dad did a great job sending updates and all went really well! Jonathan made dinner so it was ready when I got home and we got to spend the evening together before the long week set in. Tuesday was normal for us, Mom got to come home that evening, so we were super grateful for that and to have the whole shebang behind us!

Wednesday evening we went over to see Mom and Dad in the evening and get an update. I had a doctor's appointment in the morning, got a few things done around the house and enjoyed time with my family. Thursday evening I also got to spend time with my people, which is always a gift but especially so in the long weeks. Jonathan, Amelia and I all love some quality home time together as a family.

Since I worked all weekend, Jonathan and Amelia got to be buddies. They went to visit Jonathan's family Friday evening, and spent Saturday working on the electric in the second story. To be clear, Amelia did not help, she hung out with Granny and Grandma Kate, but Dad and Jonathan got a lot done!

Sunday was my dad's birthday, so after work I picked up the food and my little family and we went over for a little family gathering. It was a great evening and the company was even better! We got to see some extended family and enjoyed celebrating Dad. Jonathan got the weed-eating done around the property, which is a pretty big job, but it all looks awesome right now!

Week 46: May 30-June 5th

Memorial Day was Monday, so Jonathan and Dad were both off and they spent the day working on cutting our pine trees down! Amelia and I went grocery shopping and just went about our typical Monday off, but I enjoyed some time with Mom and we were all glad to get those silly looking trees down! It looks awesome. (Photos below)

On Tuesday I worked, Jonathan got off work a little bit early and cut wood, then went to pick Amelia up at the Haas farm, they went to get her from Faith's so he could have some extra work time. Wednesday was great, not a lot needed done, so I did what I had to and enjoyed the day with my girl. We had pork chops for dinner and I made soup for the rest of the week...this baby is making me want soup...which is convenient because it really isn't unhealthy, but it is inconvenient because it's 80 degrees outside...nevertheless, I am eating soup.

Jonathan had to go on a trip for work on Thursday, but only for the morning, so he was back in time to pick the baby up and he didn't have band, so we enjoyed an evening home together as a family. Both Thursday and Friday were short days for me, so we met for dinner after work on Friday which was a ton of fun. We ate at Classic and enjoyed some time together there. Eating out with a 17 month old is a challenge, but it can be quite entertaining. First of all, everyone loves her and she loves attention, so she is entertained AND entertaining all at the same time. Additionally, the moment she isn't entertained she is unhappy because she doesn't want to color and doesn't want to sit in her chair and really just wants to eat whatever is available, so we have to navigate that too. Overall, we truly enjoy eating out and taking her with us, she is exceptionally good and we love to show her off. She is just so sweet and such a gift to our family.

Saturday was trash day and men's breakfast day, so Amelia, Mom and I went dress shopping for bridesmaid's dresses. This isn't something I was looking forward to. Main reason being - I am 4 months pregnant and going to be 7 months pregnant for the wedding, so the struggle was real, BUT we found the perfect one that will be here on time and should easily fit. I was perfectly fine when I left our house, but by the time I got home I felt horrible. Jonathan was starting to mow, but he came in, I gave him Amelia and I took a two and a half hour nap. When I woke up I didn't feel a lot better. In the evening we went out to the garden for a little bit, but I really just was not feeling great. Sunday we all stayed home from church and just spent the day here. Jonathan and Dad worked on removing the brush from our property since it was really bad from the pine tress while Amelia and I napped and relaxed inside. In the evening, we went to Dairy Queen and made the call that I would not be going in to work on Monday, there was no possible way that I was going to be able to do it. Thankfully, I have an awesome and understanding team, so I am incredibly blessed by them and how much they have done to help me out through this little hiccup.

Overall, we had a pretty good three weeks! Everyone is doing well, we got good news on Baby and Mom, Jonathan has been able to tackle and start a few projects on his list around the house and we are slowly keeping on our route to get things accomplished this summer. Still a long ways to go, but we are excited to see what is next! Super thankful for all God has done and keeps doing!

Hope everyone is doing well! Love you all!

Love,

Allison, Jonathan and Amelia
