Year 3, Weeks 3 and 4:

Hello! I hope everyone has had a wonderful few weeks! Though we aren't keeping up with the every week thing, we are back a little earlier than expected! The past two weeks haven't been super exciting, but we will give you a quick update!

The week of July 26:

We had our family check-in on the 26th since we were both home. It was a great day reconnecting, cleaning up the house and getting ready for the upcoming week. I worked Monday and Tuesday, so Jonathan had a few evenings by himself. He went to game night on Monday after his long day at work, then Tuesday he had a project due date, so once that was done he ate and then went over to the Landis' for ice cream and family time!

I was off on Wednesday and Thursday, so we had southwest crispy wraps for supper, then had a lot of phone calls to make about the house we are looking at. After we ate, we went on a walk, then went to get some ice cream and stopped to say hi to the Haas fam! Thursday we had leftovers, made more phone calls, went on a walk and then played some gin rummy...not the most exciting few days, but they were wonderfully relaxing and fantastic!

The weekend was fairly uneventful since I worked, but Jonathan worked Friday, then mowed, called his grandma and relaxed after his long week at work. Saturday Jonathan cleaned, Shem came over, then they went and played some video games at Kyle's. We were planning on going out to eat for dinner, so when Mom text to see if we wanted to join them somewhere for dinner, we ended up meeting them at Classic then went home and enjoyed the rest of the evening together.

The week of August 2nd was full of all sorts of different stuff!

Monday was a huge blessing. David Guess, a friend I was homeschooled with then went to public school with, reached out since he and his wife were in town, so they came over for dinner! Jonathan made steaks and potatoes on the grill and the four of us sat together until 11 and had a lot of great conversation. Though Jonathan had never met either of them, it felt as if we had all known each other forever. It was refreshing to have deep conversations with people who have a similar worldview and love Jesus.

I worked on Tuesday, but Jonathan got a call letting us know our chairs were ready! In May we went to Jake's Furniture in Amish Country to order six kitchen chairs for our table, so we FINALLY got them! This led to a lot of coordinating to see when we could go pick them up. It ended up that Dad, Shem and I went on an adventure on Wednesday! I had a baby appointment and Shem had an appointment right down the road, so Dad came with us with the truck and when we were both done, we went to Jake's to get the chairs! On the way back we got mexican for lunch, then went to Grandma and Grandpa's to get some corn. It was a great morning/afternoon with them and we got a lot accomplished! When we got home, we unloaded the chairs and silked the corn, then Jonathan and I went to JCPenny. The store closest to us is closing, so we went to check out their deals. Jonathan found a lot of clothes for great prices, then we came home, had ham sandwiches, corn and chips and salsa.

Absolutely full freezer!!!
The rest of the week went a little crazy. Jonathan left for Celina Thursday and I worked. He stayed with Dillon, then on Friday, after work, he went to Hocking Hills for a bachelor party for Tim. I was off the weekend, so I spent a lot of time with my parents. He had a great weekend with the guys hiking, playing indoor and outdoor games, running, drinking beer and eating meat - so, basically, the perfect guys weekend! While he was gone, Mom and I put corn up on Friday and Dad took us to the KDB for dinner. Saturday Mom and I went to an auction and I hit the jackpot! I got a crib, dresser, 3 tables and stemware all for an awesome deal! We were very proud of our finds, then spent the evening doing a few things around Mom and Dad's. Sunday Jonathan finally came home...so I was quite happy about that. I organized the freezer, watched church, got some corn for dinner, then came home to Jonathan! For lunch we had BLTs and corn, caught up on our weekends, then took a nap. Supper we had enchiladas, cleaned up the kitchen and enjoyed a ton of time together, it was a fantastic day and I am very excited to have my husband back home with me!

I hope everyone is doing well! We miss you all and can't wait to see you soon!

Love,

Alli and Jonathan
