Year 6, March: Rain, Snow, Sun and A Healthy Month!

Hello! I hope everyone has had a good March, we enjoyed some beautiful spring weather, some ugly winter weather and some cold rain. So it's spring here in Ohio!

We have finally been healthy for a little while, which has been absolutely wonderful! I got the freezer packed up early this month so we would be ready to go for when Baby comes. The goal was to get it done before third trimester and I did manage to do that. Since then I have baked a few different things and added them to our stash, but the meals I wanted to have ready are ready to go.

Our master suite is lived in, we have been finishing a few things around the house though! We ordered a love seat at the beginning of March for our sitting area, so that as exciting. In addition, we got the kids all re-situated. Amelia got my old bed from my parent's house, so we got her switched so the toddler bed would be free for William. It took us a few weeks to get his room cleaned up and decorated, but we got him moved in. Amelia did great, it was a pretty easy transition for her since she had been sleeping in that bed for naps anyway, William had a bit more of a challenge. His first night he cried a lot, but he adjusted pretty quickly! It was difficult, but we got through it and now he is doing fantastically!

Jonathan got the garage cleaned out so we could both fit our cars a little better, it was a long day, but he got it all done, it was great! I was so thankful he did it! Now I can get both kids in and out of the car easily.

Our laundry chute got installed, which as been marvelous! It has been super helpful and looks absolutely astounding. William and I each had some doctors appointments, but not nearly as many as we went to in February.

I started my sourdough journey, which has been pretty fun! I had made a few different things, all pretty easy, I have yet to make bread, but I will at some point! We have enjoyed a few new recipes - pork enchiladas, breakfast burritos, some yummy desserts, it has been a lot of fun.

We have been spending some time planning for school next year, I want to be ready by the time it gets here and we didn't want to put it off, so now we are all good to go! Our curriculum is decided on and ordered for kindergarten, William will probably learn his letters sometime in the year, I think he is excited about it. We have enjoyed picking things out and are excited to go through them with our girl!

After one of my appointments I went shopping for the kids to get some summer clothes ready to go. It was good to have them set for the weather once we have the baby. We like to go get as much as we can used before we buy new stuff, so that was the run I went on. The kids had a ton of fun trying everything on in a fashion show that evening, it was so funny!

Jonathan got our bathtub installed! It is absolutely lovely! The bathroom is coming together very well! We now just have a few finishing touches to go. He is doing such a fantastic job. The kids are having fun running around in and out of the rooms and William is getting used to going to bed in a different room. We all have some adjustments to make, but they are doing a great job. Amelia is super ready for the baby, but William does not know what is happening nor is he terribly excited. We are trying to get him ready, but we are not quite certain what else to do except to tell him about the baby and how great he is going to be at being a big brother! He is such a sweet boy and I think he is just going to adore the baby, but he is a little concerned about change! I can't blame him! Change is hard but he might as well get used to it now!

It has been such a great month, we have enjoyed some great family time and I am excited about spending some more time together outside as the weather gets better. We went on a few walks and they were just a lot of fun! Amelia, William and I enjoy walking the neighborhood and Jonathan even got to come with us a few times! I hope everyone else has enjoyed the little glances of spring we have had! Enjoy April, we will catch you up next month!

Love,

Jonathan, Allison, Amelia and William
