As of Friday, July 14th we have been married five years, which is completely wild! We are so thankful to look back on the last five years and see all the things God has done in our marriage. It's so fun to see what He has accomplished in our lives and we are looking forward to whatever is coming next.
Week 49: June 19th - June 25th
Double 13s for me, to start with. It was wedding weekend, so after work, Jonathan and my parents did some work on the barn to get it cleaned up and start getting it ready to go on Monday night, then Tuesday night he hung out with the babies!
Wednesday I started my long stretch of days off, so we had a play date with the Henmans and then worked on the property in the evening with the help of Mom and Dad. For dinner, we had smoked pork chops, foil potatoes and green beans and I was able to harvest some peas out of my garden! On Thursday we had more wedding prep, walked through the property and William and I had therapy in the morning. It was a great day and the property looked awesome.
They had been here getting ready for the wedding all week, so Friday was no different. I spent the day cleaning the house, we topped off the party prep, had steak alfredo and went out for ice cream in the evening. It was a great day off with my babies!
Saturday was a big day of celebrating marriage! We went to a wedding reception in the afternoon and had the wedding at our house in the evening. Both were beautiful and we had such a great time both places. It is great to be able to put babies down for bed and still enjoy the wedding!
Week 50: June 26th - July 2nd
We had another playdate on Monday with the Guesses, Amelia and I went and left the baby boy with his Nana so that he could get his nap as normal. Jonathan mowed in the afternoon, then we moved the TV, swept the floor and mopped. We took our dinner over to Mom and Dad's and ate there so we could all go swimming! Burgers on the griddle.
Tuesday was a pretty normal day. I was at work and Jonathan spent some time getting our vacation planned for this fall. Wednesday was a big day for me getting things done. I made supper, did some running around, made quiche and did some ordering. We stayed inside quite a bit because the air quality was so bad with the Canadian wildfires. It was still bad on Thursday, so we stayed inside for the most part and got ready for a party in the evening! I made some food for us to have leftovers, did laundry, made fruit salad, Jonathan mowed and we spent some time with the band in the evening. It was a great little cookout hanging out with everyone there. Amelia got to swim with Megan, which was a highlight. It was a great two days off.
On Friday I worked a long day. It was actually my long weekend, but I switched with Neil so that I could have Saturday off. The kids hung out with Mom on Friday while I was at work and Jonathan worked in the garden for me to get it looking beautiful before everything started producing! It was weird not to have to work on Saturday, but it was nice to know I didn't have to go right back the next morning.
Saturday we had Jonathan’s 10 year high school reunion, but we worked in the garden that morning. I always feel good getting my garden looking lovely and we had a good time being outside as a family. The kids stayed at the Landis' while we were there and we enjoyed our time with Jonathan's classmates. We went back to feed our boy and took them home for bedtime. It all went well until Amelia woke William up because her milkshake dripped on her leg!
I DID have to work on Sunday, so Mom and Dad came to help get the kids to church so I could get there on time. Jonathan worked in the garage, I worked and the kids took super long naps after their late night the night before. For dinner, we had KFC/TBell and watched some Clifford. That's becoming a bit of a tradition for us when I work on Sunday.
Week 51: July 3rd - 9th
Monday was a short day for me, it was the day that I switched to have the reunion off. The guys worked on the barn and I got my carpet cleaner! I was so excited. Our carpet looks a ton better and I got a lot of junk out of it. William has done a ton of damage to it with all his spitting up.

Since Tuesday was the fourth, I was off and so was Jonathan. He mowed, I cleaned the living room, then we went swimming and had supper with Nana and Papa! It was a great day. We took our car and dropped it off at the shop so it could be fixed.
On Wednesday I kept cleaning, William had a rough day. He has just been struggling a lot with sleeping and it's been a challenge all around for all of us. We had a really good evening visiting with some family from out of town at my parent's. Amelia is still talking about playing with "the girls". It was so much fun. Thursday we had treatment, but it was a pretty good day with not a lot else on the docket.
Friday was my short day, so we both worked, had leftovers for dinner and hung out all evening. Saturday was our blueberry picking day. We had KDB for lunch and enjoyed a bunch of delicious food. I went shopping in the evening and got a dress for the wedding we had coming up. It was a great day, as was Sunday! It was pretty low key, I gathered some green beans, we had sandwiches and pizza, Jonathan mowed, we got all ready for the week to come.
Week 52: July 10th - 16th

Another double 13 week! This one was exceptionally challenging because we lost everything processed through CVS Caremark at around 2 on Monday and it wasn't back up until sometime super early Tuesday morning. That being said, I went in early on Tuesday. Mom came and picked the kids up so I could get a head start and Jonathan was out of town for a day in the office. It was a super long day, but I was quite thrilled to be there early so that we could get a little bit ahead for the day. We started out about 100 scripts behind, so it wasn't really the best situation.
Thankfully, I was looking at a lot of days off in a row! Wednesday was spent doing green beans. We had smoked pork chops for dinner, I had a doctor's appointment and a manicure then we booked flights in the evening. Thursday was more green beans, we ended up going to the Landis' to see Grandma Ruby and I got some planning done during the day. It was a bit of a defeating day in the end, but we made it through! Tired babies for sure.
Friday was super productive. We went to the library, cleaned, had BLTs, went swimming twice and stopped at Yoder's. It was our 5 year anniversary, so Jonathan got me some flowers and they were GORGEOUS! We celebrated with some cake and enjoyed the day as a family.
Saturday was the wedding in Pittsburgh for one of Jonathan's cousins. The kids did not come with us, they stayed with Nana and Papa and had a great time, but we did get a visit from Jonathan's Aunt Rhonda and Uncle Doug in the morning! Everyone enjoyed that. Amelia was asking to go to Aunt Rhonda's after they left. It was super sweet and a ton of fun to show them around the property plus introduce them to William!
After lunch, we took the kids to Nana and Papa's, got ourselves some snacks and went to Page's for ice cream. It was delicious! We really enjoyed our trip together and the ice cream date before the wedding date! We changed in the car, then went to Carnegie Melon for the ceremony and reception. It was absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed celebrating Kim and Chase. We also got to see Jonathan's family from Indiana and we were very excited to get to see them some additional time since we normally see them once, maybe twice a year. We were very refreshed by our time with them.
Sunday morning we slept in (until 8) and then went to Walker's Cafe for breakfast. It was the perfect little date weekend to celebrate our anniversary...and we were very glad to get our kiddos back at church! We spent the afternoon getting things done. Jonathan mowed, I made a grocery list and then we all went grocery shopping. It is always fun to go do something as a family, but still a little challenging to get dinner and THEN go do something, so we went to get groceries and brought Chipotle home for supper. Everyone loves it, including Amelia. She just loves her quesadilla! We had another special evening sitting and watching Clifford while we ate supper. She is always tickled with our little "picnics" and William enjoys being on the floor and trying to sneak some of any of our food! He has been doing a much better job eating for us and seems to be enjoying his food a lot. We are so thankful for that because he has been a bit of a challenge when it comes to introducing food.
These babies are growing super quickly! We are so thankful for them and are enjoying this phase of everyone being mobile. They are a ton of fun and keep us on our toes for sure. Recently, they have been playing really well together, which warms my heart. He just loves to be around her and lights up when she is around. No one can make him giggle like she can. Of course, she makes all of us giggle pretty easily. We are working on potty training...it is definitely a challenge. She has been doing really well with going pee on the potty but doesn't really like to poop on the potty at all. Slowly but surely, we will get there! She is pretty opinionated, which is expected, so we are on the obedience train too. For the most part, she is a very good girl and he is a very good little boy. He has two teeth right now and is acting like all of his other ones are also coming in. Poor guy chews on everything and I'm thinking that might be part of the reason we are fighting him with his routine as well. Hopefully he will turn a corner here soon.
We are so thankful for all of you being in our corner. Everyone is so willing to help and is always encouraging us in this bumpy, but amazing adventure. This summer has been the sweetest yet! Our family, home and property are all flourishing for the most part and we are so thankful. God has been good! We love you all, thank you for being with us and supporting us in this season!
Love,
Jonathan, Allison, Amelia and William
