Year 4, Weeks 28-30: Back to the Grind

Hello, everyone! We are knee deep in the family of four life with me going back to work and dealing with sick kids and sleep schedules, it's actually been really good and gone well! We are all healthy again and thriving in our new schedule!

Week 28: January 23-29

This was my last week off, so we spent a lot of time getting stuff done! Jonathan got stuff put up in the bathroom, he got Amelia's closet ready to go and worked on the other room as well! At William's 2 month appointment they weren't very happy with how he was turning his head and sent him to a physical therapist, so we did that on Tuesday and she gave us some stretches to do.

On Wednesday he started feeling a little stuffy and then he decided to share it with everyone else! Jonathan was in Ravenna that day, so he fared pretty well, but Amelia and I went down on Thursday. We went shopping in the morning, then she just crashed from there. Since we weren't feeling up for anything, we went and got KFC for dinner and had a "special" dinner on the couch watching Clifford! I made muffins for the weekend and Jonathan worked on the third bedroom while we were gone getting food.

The rest of the weekend, I was home with the kids and Jonathan spent a bunch of time at a bunch of different stuff! He went to help at the farm in the morning and then church on Sunday. I spent the week/weekend cleaning the house so it was all put together before I went back to work. In the end, I got exactly what I prayed for - good, quality time with my babies!

Week 29: January 30-February 5

Monday we went on DATE NIGHT for the first time in months! Between working on the barn, the house and having a baby, we haven't had a lot of time. Our date night consisted of Aldi's, Lowe's and Applebee's...not what we have always done, but it was perfect! We SO enjoyed our time.

On Tuesday I spent a lot of time getting stuff done. Since it was my last week home, I was busy all week getting stuff accomplished. Most of the week was spent that way. Wednesday we went to small group, which was awesome! Amelia loves seeing all the kids, she had a blast. Thursday was a family night and we enjoyed every minute of it!!! It was great to just be together and get all geared up for the weekend.

My first day back was the start of a long weekend, which was a little rough, but we all made it! The kids were home with Grandma Landis on Friday and then home with Jonathan the rest of the weekend. We actually had a good weekend and I got my feet mostly back under me.

Week 30: February 6-12

William went to the chiropractor on Monday! The physical therapy exercises weren't helpful at all, he seemed like he was doing worse, actually. After the chiropractor visit he seemed a lot better! Jonathan had a massive project, so he was working a lot all week.

Tuesday I was at work and the kids went to Faith's for the first time! Amelia was so excited to be back with Thea and Faith and she was so glad to bring William with her. Our new couch came on Tuesday too! All sorts of fun stuff.

I was glad to be off work again on Wednesday. William went back to the chiropractor and I did a little bit of shopping while we were up in Canton. For small group, I made some dip and we had a good evening with the kids at Mom and Dad's. They enjoyed some Nana and Papa time and we enjoyed some friend time with the small group.

Thursday was a lot of fun. I had a dentist appointment (which was not fun) but I got to take Amelia with me! She was so incredibly sweet and obedient, I was proud of her. The staff was impressed with her and she earned herself a trip to the library and to see Nana...she was quite excited about it! Jonathan worked late, then we celebrated National Pizza Day! We made pizza and it was delicious, Amelia ate like a champ.

Friday was a short day, so we all met for dinner afterward. Grinder's was delicious and Amelia hung in there really well. They kind of forgot about us, but she just kept chatting and stayed super content, again, I was super proud of her. She is growing up and being so, incredibly sweet.

Saturday was our first family home day in a long time! It was so much fun. I took a a massive nap, we had pancakes for breakfast, Jonathan hung the TV in the family room and got some work done. In the evening we watched Little Women and ate Dairy Queen - it was a win! I spent a lot of Sunday getting ready for the next two days packing food and milk and clothes and everything else for being at work. We went to church as a family, Jonathan worked, then we went and watched the Super Bowl at Mom and Dad's for the evening - had pizza, ate dip, everyone was happy!

We have had a great couple weeks adjusting! William is feeling so much better and sleeping better, Amelia is growing so much and is super sweet, Jonathan and I are both getting things done at work AND still thriving at home, so we are on a good track!

I hope everyone else is feeling the same way, enjoy the last little bit of winter! We love you all!

Love,

Jonathan, Allison, Amelia and William
