Year 4, Weeks 10-12: Work, House and Finally Fall!

Hello! With this new schedule change I am actually able to get back to writing regularly...I think...hopefully. We will have to wait and see, but I am on time this time! As long as it gets posted, we will be good to go!

Week 10: September 19-25

Jonathan wasn't feeling very well this week, there was a bit of a stomach bug going around the week of the wedding, so I think he was a little delayed in getting it! He and Dad still worked on the house though! I am thankful he felt well enough to do that because every day is counting at this point. Right now we are mainly working at work and working on the house, every once in awhile we sneak a few other things in. I have been working on keeping the house clean and functioning.

Wednesday I took Amelia to her first story time! They weren't doing a normal story time, so that was a bit of a bummer, but we got some books! So Amelia loved that. Gives us a few new books to read. In the evening we went into town and ordered our flooring for the upstairs, which means we have a hard deadline now...as if having a baby on the way wasn't enough pressure!

On Thursday I finally went to get a new phone. It hasn't been working well for the last few months, so I finally went and got one ordered. It was my super long weekend off, which means I worked Monday and Tuesday and then was off until the next Tuesday! We are really loving that. On Friday I spent time organizing my freezer so I could find everything, planned meals for maternity leave and then we went to hang out at Mom and Dad's since Kyle was going to be leaving in the morning. We played games and enjoyed and evening together since Jonathan was finally feeling better!

Saturday was a much needed shopping day. We had a few things to get at Lowes, Amelia needed shoes in a REALLY bad way and we went out for breakfast at Heggy's, which was delicious! In the afternoon, Jonathan mowed and I worked on organizing the kitchen. It had been so long since I had gone through everything and I felt like my cupboards were stuffed full but I could never find what I actually needed, so I made a massive grocery list to restock everything I needed and weeded out what I needed and didn't need to get in preparation for my maternity leave meals. That evening, we went to the Landis' to visit and took Amelia to the farm. She had a great time!

Sunday morning we went to church, then Jonathan worked in the afternoon and I did some planning. We also did some shopping online for a few house things we couldn't find in person at Lowe's. For dinner, I had the stuff out for filet and also the stuff out for chicken alfredo...so we had both chicken and filet alfredo! It was quite tasty...no one was disappointed!

Week 11: September 26-October 2

Monday was my grocery shopping day, we went to Aldi, Mott's, the orchard, came back for lunch, then went to finish our shopping at DDM. It was a long trip, but we were fully stocked and ready to go by nap time, so I was perfectly content! Jonathan and Dad worked on the house in the evening and Amelia and I got to enjoy some time together before I went back to work.

Jonathan had a super stressful September, so he worked a really long day on Tuesday just like I did! Mom and Dad took Amelia to the soccer game in town so that he could have the evening to do what he needed to. Wednesday I had a flu clinic to run. I wasn't asked to run it as much as I was told I would do it, but it went well! I was just disappointed I didn't get to spend the day with my girl. We went to a real story time, which was a ton of fun. Amelia didn't want to interact a ton, but she did pretty well! We had spaghetti and spent the evening as a family, which was MUCH needed!

I had an ultrasound on Thursday and a doctor's appointment, so I left Amelia again that morning to get stuff done. Jonathan worked another long day and I went to pick my phone up. In the evening, we went to the library book sale as a family. Amelia had a good time looking at books, but she really loved the sticky note on the floor and kept trying to stick it to herself and other random things.

While I was waiting for my phone to be coordinated I went to get gas, then walked around the corner to the vintage home store in town. I hadn't been there before, but it was super cute! They had a wooden rocker that I had to try out since we have been trying to figure out what all we need in Amelia's room. The rocking chair we have will stay in the nursery, but she loves rocking before bed and we loving rocking with her, so we were trying to figure out a cost effective way to find something we liked for her room. This rocker was only $50, so Jonathan went to try it out on Friday and brought it home! Such a steal! On the way home from the store the stopped to see me, which was awesome and then they went to Mom and Dad's to help with chores. Amelia was a really big help...she took care of the kitties and made sure they were snuggled super well. Jonathan got his project FINISHED, so that was a huge relief. They got to enjoy the evening together and we got to enjoy our weekend!

It was my weekend to work, but Aunt Chery had a hoedown, so I took Sunday off. Saturday I worked, then went to get Jonathan and Amelia and we went up to the party! We had so much fun and Amelia loved dancing and being given attention and she especially loved snuggling with Aunt Chery.

We went to church as a family on Sunday, Jonathan worked on the apartment and we had a family night. I got a few little things done, but mainly spent the day refreshing and taking a nap. Amelia and I were both exhaused!

Week 12: October 3-9

Monday was another work day for Jonathan and Dad on the house, so we had leftovers for dinner and I just made something to have for leftovers the rest of the week. While Amelia napped in the afternoon, I went shopping for her in Canton. She is still fitting in all of her clothes, but we are trying to get ready for winter BEFORE Baby comes because I don't want to have to go shopping with both of them until I am good and ready to.

Tuesday Jonathan worked on the house in the evening and Amelia hung out with Granny so he could do so. She also got to hang out with Granny and Papa on Wednesday because we had small group! It turns into a bit of a late night for her, but she has so much fun and we do too! It helps that she and I are home on Thursday and can do whatever we need to in order to get caught up on sleep. We also went to story time on Wednesday and she opened up even quicker! I think she is really enjoying it and she definitely loves having all the books around for the week.

Thursday we had chicken and noodles, I went to get some shopping done at DDM and we got laundry all done so that no one ran out of clothes. Friday was my one short day, so we met at Grinders for dinner afterward, had a family night and just enjoyed time together. It had been awhile since we had been to Grinders, so that was a ton of fun! Mom and Dad were out of town, so Jonathan milked all weekend, which didn't interrupt our lives too much, he just had to get up really early. It always sounds terrible, but he is always glad he is doing it! He came back and worked on the house most days, which, like I said earlier, every day counts!

Saturday morning we did some shopping. Jonathan needed a few things at the hardware and I wanted to get some paint samples to figure out what we are doing with the different rooms in the renovated part of the house. We needed a few groceries, so we stopped at Kishman's and then explored the furniture store across the road! We are trying to figure out what all we need for Amelia's room, they didn't have any beds that fit the bill, but now we know what they DO have and we can go back sometime! For dinner, we had DQ, then we moved a bunch of Amelia's clothes that she out grew and did some online shopping for more house things as well as Christmas stuff for Amelia.

Sunday was a VERY relaxing day! We had church, the Brown's game, did some more shopping, had pizza and chowder and enjoyed some time together. We facetimed with the Landis family in the evening, then called it a night! We were all tired and needed to rest for the crazy week ahead. It has been such a great time adjusting to this new schedule for me and we are so thankful that work is so much less stressful now that his project is over. Still working hard on the house, that is our biggest deal right now!

We hope everyone is adjusting well to the fall weather! It has been great, in my opinion, but it was a very sudden change! That's for sure!

We love you all and will hopefully talk to you again in a few weeks!

Love,

Allison, Jonathan and Amelia
