Year 4, Weeks 6-9:

The past few weeks have been wild, so prepare yourselves for a lot! We have enjoyed the past month so much, but are quite thrilled to be where we are now.

Week 6: August 22nd-28th

Since I worked the weekend before, I actually got to stay at home on Monday, Jonathan and Dad worked in the evening and Mom came over to fit my dress for the wedding...this was the evening I found out my shoes didn't fit. That was a bummer. Tuesday was normal, Dad and Jonathan worked on the house, then Wednesday we went to look at flooring and enjoyed an evening as a family. Fun fact, this was also the day I wrote the last blog...which is yet to be posted (editor's note: that blog has been posted).

Thursday was nice because Jonathan didn't have band and we had an evening together. We went to Classic for dinner on Friday - which was delicious, I met them there after work. I always enjoy squeezing in a little family date night on a short day!

Saturday was a ton of fun. Jonathan had the men's breakfast, so Amelia and I went to the farmer's market in Carrollton and got some veggies to make salsa since my garden didn't give me everything I needed. It was such a fun trip for the two of us. I spent the rest of the day making salsa and getting chip dip ready to take to Grandpa's birthday party! It was a big day and I was very tired by the end of it! Sunday was wonderful. I finished the salsa, we went to church, took naps, Jonathan worked on the barn, we had pizza and enjoyed the evening as a family!

Week 7: August 29th - September 4th

I worked double long days the beginning of this week, so Jonathan and Dad did a lot of work getting ready for drywall. They measured on Monday and consulted with an acquaintance to see what he thought about the ceiling, then Tuesday they went and got a bunch of drywall! They are making a ton of progress, so that is super helpful and encouraging since Baby Landis #2 is just around the corner!

I had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday, then we turned around and went back to Canton in the evening to enjoy the fair. Amelia loved it! She enjoyed seeing all the animals and she extra loved the milkshakes.

Jonathan spent the entire day in Celina on Thursday, so Amelia hung out with Faith and Granny and Mommy while we waited for him to come home. Friday was a day off for me, but it was a big day. I made pasta for us to have and then spent the day cleaning, planning and packing for Amelia, Mom and I to go down to Tennessee for the weekend.

We left early Saturday morning for the Smokey Mountains. It took us 10 hours to get down there and Amelia was a trooper! She slept a little bit in the morning, then took a nap in the afternoon. She was SO excited to get there and see Rah-Rah, then Uncle Shem when he got off work. She did pretty well for being so out of her element.

Sunday was a big day! We went to church in the morning, then went to get some food and had Karah's shower in the afternoon! After that, we took Amelia to Bobby and Cassy's house so Shem could watch her while we were at a painting party for Karah! It was so much fun, we loved spending time with her, the bridesmaids and her Mom and Grandma. I had never done anything like that, so it was quite enjoyable. Amelia did really well with Shem and the boys, she didn't love the dogs at first, but she adapted!

While we were gone, Jonathan went to Baird Brother's to get all our trim and doors ordered for the part of the house we are currently working on. It was a big deal for us to get that ball rolling and we were struggling to find time to go together, thankfully, Jonathan was able to go and we had all the decisions made that we needed to! He also worked on cleaning the apartment up, getting the manifold ready to go and they finished getting the half wall ready to go for when we turn the stairs. It really opened up the living room and I love it already! It's hard to picture it as a kitchen now. He and dad worked on cleaning the barn up and then he watched a movie and got to relax! I was glad he got to have some time to himself at home without Amelia and I. We love time together, but he doesn't get a lot of time to himself, so I was very glad he got some of that.

Fun fact, the entire time I was out of state, I only took one picture and it was of a light.

Week 8: September 5th - 11th

This was my first week of the new schedule! I was off on Monday because we were driving back from Tennessee, but it will typically be my Monday off, so it worked out well! We took the 8 hour drive back, which actually took 10 hours because toddlers and pregnant ladies require lots of stops. Jonathan and Dad went for breakfast, got some things at Lowe's and worked on some of the plumbing. Right now, that's the only thing standing in the way of us and having walls up, so we are very excited to get that done.

Tuesday I was at work and Jonathan had a day with Amelia. I actually got to re-hire someone, which is a huge benefit since we have been a little short handed. It has been very functional, but with flu shots, COVID shots and just fall time in general, we have more work to do.

Wednesday we had quesadillas, Jonathan worked and mowed, and I had a doctor's appointment. The fun part was - I was also off on Thursday! I had an eye appointment that I took Amelia to for the first time...she did SO well! I was very proud of her. Jonathan had band in the evening, we had meatloaf and scalloped potatoes for dinner and then Amelia and I spent the evening together.

It was my weekend to work, which was incredibly amazing since I only had three days! Friday was 13 hours but then the rest were short days and I was incredibly well rested and felt great the whole time! New schedule is a total win. Saturday evening we went over to Mom and Dad's for lasagna and then they came over to our house to see the barn lights that the guys drastically improved...they look SO great! Sunday was a relax day for Jonathan and Amelia, he watched the game while she napped and then we had a great evening together as a family.

Week 9: September 12th - 18th

Monday I was off, so I went grocery shopping, which was very necessary for our little family! Shem, Karah, Dad and Stacy were working on the barn all day on Monday and it was really starting to take shape! Thankfully, my family's role in the wedding prep was done before wedding week and we just had the job of going in every once in awhile and saying "Wow! This looks awesome" which wasn't hard since it did!

Tuesday was my last day of work for the week, since I had taken Friday off for the wedding. I missed the big day at the barn, of course, they had pizza and had a great evening though, so I was glad Amelia and Jonathan got to enjoy everybody! The flowers came that day, Jonathan went to Ravenna, a lot of the work was still just beginning!

It was just a really big week here! We had people in and out and all around all week! I had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday, made breakfast for the bridesmaids for Thursday, Vicki was working on the flowers in the basement, Stacy was getting appetizers ready, Perry was working in the living room, it was a lot! Amelia's room is right off the dining room, so she is really in the middle of everything. We put the sound machine to hard work and she did amazing!

Thursday the bridesmaids came over and made bouquets, the work on the barn continued, there were kids and people everywhere, which Amelia LOVED. She actually woke up from her nap and was very upset when I told her there weren't any kids here at the time. We had rehearsal at 4, then the dinner after that. It was a lot and I was not feeling great, but we really enjoyed going up in the barn in the evening with a small group of sweet people, that was probably a top moment of the week for me.

Friday was THE day. I took Amelia to Faith's in the morning, Jonathan went to breakfast with the guys and I went to the Prusia's to get ready and to get Karah over to my house. After breakfast, Jonathan did some work, then went over to Mom and Dad's to get ready there. The wedding was more beautiful than I can even put into words, until there are pictures, I can't really do it justice, so I'm not even going to try. I just hope it was everything they wanted it to be. Jonathan and I were so proud to be part of it and were blown away just seeing people love our property and enjoy the day. It is exactly what we want our home to be - full of people relaxing, fellowshipping and enjoying the amazing yard.

Saturday was tear down day and it went really fast. We got the house cleaned, packed up a lot of food, took naps and went to bed early - SO MUCH recovery was needed! We went to church Sunday, then spent the day reviving. We had the Browns game on, hung out with Mom, Dad, Aunt Chery and Uncle Jeff and just relaxed. We took some flowers to the neighbor's houses and, again, went to bed early. It was a really sweet weekend, and we were glad to get to spend time together after all the craziness!

We are now in full house and baby mode! We will try our best to keep you super updated!

Love,

Allison, Jonathan and Amelia

Year 4, Weeks 1-5

We are back! Sorry for the delay. We are really in the thick of it this summer. Hopefully it will slow down soon but I don't make any promises!

Week 1: July 18th-24th

There has been a lot of apartment work happening around here recently! Jonathan and Dad have been very busy and have got a ton done! Jonathan's parents visited while I was at work on Tuesday so that they could see him for his birthday. We were going to celebrate on his birthday, but I felt pretty awful, so we ended up having cowboy quesadillas and getting a few things done around the house. I DID go get him a gift though - a mailbox. We are at that point in our relationship where practical gifts are perfect! He had been wanting to put up a new mailbox, ours was horrible, and it was just one of those things that he couldn't get off his list, so Amelia and I went and grabbed him one to take something off his plate. This summer, it was the perfect gift.

The rest of the week was just hectic, but we made it. We even had some time to watch a movie over the weekend, we had our marriage summit, went to the brewery and had a great weekend together. I found out this week that I would definitely be able to cut back my hours, which was great news! But leads to a lot more waiting.

Week 2: July 25th-31st

Dad and Jonathan worked on the house for a few days this week, I worked on canning beans and making sure everyone had food to eat while I was gone at work. It was a crazy weekend for the whole family! Jonathan was in Indiana for Dillon's wedding, Dad went to Tennessee for Shem's shower and I was at work, so Amelia and Granny had a lot of quality time! She and I spent the weekend there since it was silly for me to keep hauling her back and forth. The girls weekend was awesome and the guys enjoyed their respective trips.

We were all very please to be back home on Sunday. We had pizza for dinner and spent the evening catching up. It was a great time together, we just love being together as a family.

Week 3: August 1st-7th

A not as crazy week for sure. We had grocery shopping, lots of good food and got things caught up. I had to plan a quick party because we had an employee move out of state. Monday I had to get some cake and sandwiches lined up for Thursday! We had a great celebration and we have been adjusting to one less employee very well. I have a fantastic team and they have been incredible.

Jonathan and Dad have been working so hard on our house. I worked on canning beans and Amelia had a great time hanging out with different people while Faith was on vacation. She played with Grandma Landis, Aunt Chery and Aunt Bev, all kinds of fun!

Over the weekend we went to a party at the Rich's, prepared for a family weekend and got a lot done around the house!

Week 4: August 8th-14th

Again, Jonathan and Dad did a lot of work. On Wednesday we had a lot to do. We got to see the new baby Wednesday morning because we had a super early ultrasound while Amelia hung out with Papa! We had a few other errands to run, grabbed lunch, then finally got back home. I had a lot of cooking to do for the weekend and also did some laundry to make sure we could have enough clothing for the weekend.

We went to Friedenswald for the weekend with Jonathan's family. Every year, we all go up to camp for the weekend and it was the best time. So much good conversation and quality time with people we don't get to see very often. Amelia did really well for what it was - lots of driving, not enough sleep, she was a doll. Super precious, loved playing with all the kids and chatting with everyone, not so keen on the car ride, but we all made it!

Week 5: August 15th-21st

I was off on Monday, which was quite relaxing. I was very glad to spend the day home with my baby girl, that's for sure! Dad and Jonathan did work on the house and we got tons of good news! Found out what my new schedule will be after Labor Day when I cut back to 30 hours a week and we paid off my school loans! So much relief from all of that!

It was my long weekend, so Jonathan and Amelia had some good time together. They came to visit me and brought me a coke, we got to go catch up with Mom and Dad on Saturday evening and spent some time there, which was much needed. Then, Sunday evening, we spent a lot of time together. Amelia was thrilled to be back with "Mama, Daddy"...we didn't even want to put her to bed she was so much fun! She took a super long nap on Sunday and let Jonathan get a lot done around the house. She has been talking so much and growing up so fast, we are loving every single minute with her! I couldn't fit all the pictures in the text, so I left a few at the bottom for your enjoyment!

Hope you are all enjoying the last little bit of summer! We love you!

Love,

Allison, Jonathan and Amelia

Year 6, May:

Hello, there! I must say this month will most likely be told in pictures more than words because it has been both a whirlwind and a slow pac...
