Year 2/3: June 8 - July 25

Whew! It has been a long time! Since it has been so long, we will talk about the highlights! Life has been moving a little faster than we have been, so we are just now getting caught up! Sorry for the extreme delay!

We will go week by week with the main things.

June 7-13th: We actually went shopping for the first time in a really long time on Wednesday, then we went to visit my great-grandpa's farm with my parents, which was really fun. Friday I went to Roger's with my parents and got an electric butter churn, so that was exciting!

Left is Mom and Dad's, right is ours!
June 14-20th: We finished working on the cornhole boards that Sunday, had enchiladas and napped! The next week we picked a lot of strawberries, which was good. We had some strawberry shortcake and froze the rest of them - so we should be set for the next year!

June 21-27th: The 21st was Father's Day and it was a ton of fun! We got to announce to my family that we are having a baby in January!!! We are so excited and can't wait to meet them! They were excited and surprised. We found out on Mother's Day and were excited to finally tell them! Friday we told my Mom's family since everyone got together for a little party. It was a ton of fun! Saturday I had Sara's bridal shower, so it was good to see some family and friends there who I haven't seen in awhile. I was pretty sick for most of these weeks and Saturday was a pretty bad evening, but we have been getting through it and recently I have been feeling a little bit better.
Aunt Bev, Mom, Uncle Ed, Grandma and Grandpa at Grandma's birthday party!

June 28-July 4th: On the 28th we told the Landis family about the baby, so that was a ton of fun! Everyone was surprised and excited there too. I worked the weekend of the 4th, but we still got to go to the Rich's for some fireworks and got to see that side of the family. It had been awhile, so we were glad to reconnect with them!

Us at the wedding!
July 5-11th: This was the week we started looking at the house we are trying to purchase. It has been a lot of craziness going on with that whole process, but we are enjoying it and are excited to see what happens next. I got to go pick blueberries finally! It is one of my favorite  things to pick - so tasty. We ended up getting quite a few, we should be all set for the rest of the year on those too! All the fruitiness! There was a lot of house stuff that happened this week, but it was all a lot of fun. My dad went through and really checked it out, so that was reassuring. Friday we headed out to Wapak, I hadn't been there since we left in May, so that was refreshing. We met Dillon for El Azteca that evening, then went and spent the evening with the Steigers. We were there until about 1:30am and simply adored getting together with them and catching up. It was a lot of fun. That night we stayed at Dillon's house, then enjoyed the morning and afternoon with him. Lunch at J Marie's was fantastic...I definitely miss that place. Saturday evening we had my friend Victoria's wedding, so it was beautiful and fantastic to see her on her day.
Anniversary celebration!

July 12-18th: Jonathan started helping with the videoing at the church and he has really been enjoying it! Monday our offer on the house was accepted!!! It has been rough at work for me and that day was especially difficult, but some good news that evening was much appreciated. Our two year anniversary was the 14th and Jonathan got my some flowers and we had sparkling grape juice to celebrate since we both worked the whole day. Wednesday was the church family night and we got to see a few people we hadn't seen in a long time! Mandi came over to visit that day and I enjoyed that a lot.

Jonathan's birthday stamp!
July 19-25th: Last week was a good week. It was one of my light weeks. Monday was Jonathan's birthday, so we went on a hike in the Nature Center, grilled, ate ice cream and played Splendor to celebrate. His birthday present was bocce ball and he got to pick it out himself, so that came later in the week. Friday we had the Haas birthday celebration for Shem and Jonathan, we watched home videos and enjoyed some catching up. Saturday I was pretty miserable a threw up a few different times after a week of nothing, but I am trying not to be bitter about it. We canned green beans in the morning, then went to the Landis' for dinner and to celebrate Jonathan's birthday.

Overall, it has been a great month and a half with a lot of exciting things going on - so much that it gets a little bit overwhelming but we are trying to slow it down a little bit. I hope everyone has been enjoying the summer! It has been pretty toasty here, we need the rain and would love for a storm to break the heat...or maybe that's just me!

Have a great week! We will try to check in sooner next time!

Love,

Alli and Jonathan

Hello, there! I must say this month will most likely be told in pictures more than words because it has been both a whirlwind and a slow pac...
