Year 2, Week 30-32: Has it Really Been this Long?

It was finally winter here! This is the view out our back door!

I did NOT realize how long it has been since we have updated everyone on what we have been up to! I have been working the past two Wednesdays, so that has made all my days off for cleaning, cooking and doing everything else that needs done. Today we are back though! I will just give you the highlights!

February 3-9:

Baking mess! Turned out tasty!
Had to measure to make sure it was done correctly

I worked an extra shift this week, so that made it a little longer than usual, but we made it! Friday we celebrated with Texas Roadhouse, then came home and started a puzzle. I did some baking, made brownies and cinnamon bread, which was all delicious. Saturday we watched a fantastic movie, The Zookeeper's Wife. Highly recommended! Jonathan actually got the movie a few days later, so we are excited to watch it again!

February 10-16:
This was a super rough week. I had my first ever inventory at work on Wednesday and I worked Wednesday as well. So it was a lot of extra that I was not entirely prepared for. Inventory went really well, but it was a very long day. Jonathan was away Monday and Tuesday, so Wednesday we finally got to spend time some together when I got home. Thursday we had to go up to Cleveland to get shots for our upcoming vacation. It was good to spend time together after Jonathan being gone and me working so many hours! I worked the weekend, but I had Sunday off, so we went out to lunch with Mom and Dad to the new Tlaquepaque on Easton! It was fantastic food and we hadn't spent time with them in a long time. Sunday night we had a late night with the youth group bowling and skating. It was a lot of fun to spend time with the kids and leaders, we had a lot of fun building relationships with them.

February 17-23:
I actually got to go grocery shopping for the first time in about a month or so...which, oddly, is something I enjoy. Jonathan was home all week, so that always makes the week better. Wednesday was thrown off a bit because I had to work, but Jonathan took me in to work and then picked me up to go to small group so we could still ride together! I worked again Thursday, but we had a FANTASTIC weekend! Friday we had to go get the second round of our shots in Cleveland again. On our way home we stopped at Chili's and did some shopping in Canton. Mom and Dad shopped by on their way home and had ice cream quick before Jonathan and I had a chat with his cousin in India.
Saturday morning we got up really early and drove to Peek 'n Peak in New York to spend the day skiing. It was a two and a half hour drive, but it was so much fun! We stopped at IHOP for breakfast and had the most talkative, yet slowest talking waiter in the whole world, but it was delicious and got us all ready for 6 hours on the slopes. Jonathan was skiing for the second time ever and he did great! We had a great day! It was an absolutely beautiful day outside! We skied from 10 to 4, then came home since we were exhausted.

We are now facing a few "normal" weeks, which is very exciting. Hopefully we can keep up with everyone a little better!

Have a great week!

Love,

Alli and Jonathan

Year 2, Week 29: Last Long Week!

Here were are again! Not much exciting to report from last week. Jonathan was gone Monday and Tuesday in Celina. It was the third week in a row...but we are finally back to normal life this week! I never like when he is gone, so I am glad to have him home for a longer period of time this week.

Wednesday our small group started back up, so that was really nice. It has been quite a while, so we were glad to see everyone again! I didn't get as much done as I wanted to on Wednesday while I was home, but it ended up being just what I needed. Both of us have been pretty worn out from how much we have been running, so I was glad to get recharged a little bit, even though it wasn't exactly what I expected.

Thursday I did a lot of cleaning, organizing and played some piano while Jonathan worked. We had chicken enchiladas for dinner, which are some of my favorite things to eat, then we just relaxed and spent the evening at home. Both of us have been craving more home time, so it has been nice to spend the evenings we have together just relaxing at home.

The weekend was a little crazy since I was working, but it was still good. Jonathan worked on Friday, then went and picked up our skis from the ski shack. We left them there to be tuned up, so now they are all ready to go skiing...if we ever get any snow around here! February 5th and we are still waiting for winter to show up.

Saturday Jonathan spent the day at the farm, then we met up at Grinders for dinner when I was done with work. There was a dance in Carrollton...so it was crazy busy with a bunch of dressed up kids there, but we just waited patiently and enjoyed our food once we got it! Afterward we came home, watched a movie and went to bed early.

Sunday was a rough day for me. Work was crazy, lots of angry people and quite an exhausting time. Thankfully, I got to just come home and relax after work. I skipped the youth group super bowl party, but Jonathan went, so I just chilled on my own. When Jonathan got home we finished watching the game and got ready for the rest of the week.

Overall, it was a pretty slow week, but we are starting to get into a good rhythm again. The rest of the month keeps changing, my work schedule is very bizarre and continues to change, so we are just hanging in there this month. Bear with us! I am not entirely sure how frequent we will be on here, but we will definitely try!

Love you all!

Year 6, May:

Hello, there! I must say this month will most likely be told in pictures more than words because it has been both a whirlwind and a slow pac...
