Week 15: Hello!
Hello there! I have no idea if anyone will read this or if anyone is interested, but, if you are, Jonathan and I thought it might be cool to kind of give everyone a bit of a window into our world in case you DO want to know what we are up to every week. Full disclosure: we live a fairly boring life...but we love it! We tend to enjoy the simple things and have fun just doing life together! We just completed week 15 of marriage and this week was pretty chill, as most of them are. Last Sunday my parents came to visit our church and we had lunch together, then this Sunday Jonathan's parents and Emily came to visit us and we did lunch and watched some of the Browns game together - so we have gotten to see lots of the people we love in the past week! I wrapped up my rotation at Van Wert Health this week (click on the link to find out more about where I was!). It was bittersweet leaving because the people I worked with were absolutely amazing and I truly enjoyed everyone there. The pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, hospitalists, nurses, cardiologists, physical therapists, patients, janitors, switchboard operators, anesthesiologists, surgery technicians, everyone was amazing and made me feel so at home. Thursday they ordered pizza for lunch and we had a little party to celebrate. Turning in my badge was hard, but I am excited to have the first part of this week off as I prepare to start my new rotation on Thursday, November 1st when I will be returning to the Dr. Gene Wright Community Health Center. Ohio Northern is hosting a job fair on Wednesday specifically for pharmacy students, so I will be attending and hope to make some good contacts with potential employers. May (and more importantly, graduation!) is not as far away as I would like to think it is so hopefully this can give me a good start on getting a big kid job! This Wednesday was a little crazy between getting ready for the job fair and taking a quiz for school, but I made it and Jonathan was super helpful and supportive as I tried real hard not to get too frustrated with the computer. Thursday we went to Trunk-N-Treat at our church with our small group. We all dressed up as the characters from Winnie the Pooh and handed out candy to a BUNCH of little kids from Wapak and it was so fun! Jonathan was Christopher Robin (guys, he even had a blue baloon - it was perfect) and I was Piglet (sadly, my costume came in the mail on Friday...so I just wore a bunch of pink shirts and tried to stay warm). We got lots of compliments on our theme and, more importantly, we had a great time with our new friends from our small group! There was a little girl dressed up as a pioneer, she was my favorite because she had a bonnet and everything - instantly made me think of Little House on the Prairie! Jonathan's favorite was the little boy dressed up as Emmet from The Lego Movie. All of the kids were super cute and had a lot of fun! Friday night we were going to go to the football game...but it was rainy and we had no reason to sit out in that, so instead Dillon came over and beat us in 7Wonders (a board game). Saturday we went to a couples night at our church. It was a lot of fun, we played some Minute To Win It games and made new friends. Jonathan's week was pretty quiet aside from Bible study on Monday and the other activities I mentioned. This week should be pretty quiet for both of us, so we hope to play some games and some music, potentially work on ordering wedding photos and watch a movie or two! So there is a glimpse into our fairly normal life! Hopefully this will help you feel like we aren't so far away☺
